Dysart—Cloris L. Hupfeld, age 77, died peacefully with her family at her side, Saturday, July 24, 2010 of cancer at her residence under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vinton with Pastor Clarke E. Frederick officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the church and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial at Dysart Cemetery.

Cloris Lucille Hupfeld was born October 22, 1932 at Marshalltown, IA, to Herbert and Elna Brucklacker Wolken. She was raised in Dunbar and Dillon, IA, and graduated from Dunbar High School. On December 15, 1957she married Melvin Hupfeld at the Dillon LutheranChurch. Cloris and Melvin farmed for twenty six years near Dysart. After retiring from farming the couple managed mobile home parks in Oklahoma and Minnesota.

Cloris enjoyed simple things. She loved flower gardening, feeding and watching birds and squirrels, puzzles, playing cards and socializing with friends to name a few. Spontaneous road trips to casinos, wineries, greenhouses and garden centers were always a favorite of hers as well. However, her family was the most important aspect of her life.

Cloris is survived by her husband of 52 years, Melvin; her son, Michael (Linda) Hupfeld, Readlyn, IA; daughter, Melody (Wes) Snobl, Vinton; daughter-in-law, Judy Hupfeld, Vinton; six grandchildren, Adam (Jesse) Hupfeld, Tina (Dave) Ender, Austin and Chelsie Lensch, Jennifer (Steve) Aiello, Ryan Carey; seven great grandchildren, Isebella Hupfeld, Kennedy, Delaney and Taylor Carey, Jada, Danica and Ava Aiello; and two sisters, Margery (Richard) Armbrecht and Rosina (Leon) Borcherding.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn child from a previous marriage, her parents, brother, Stan Wolken and son, John Hupfeld.
