Hunter Daniel Morin, 12, formerly of Norway, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, following a courageous battle with cancer. Services were held last Thursday, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Vinton by Rev. Ardel Barta. Burial was at Bear Creek Cemetery, Brandon.
Hunter is survived by his parents, Marcus and Amy of Vinton; two sisters, Gracie of Vinton and Jade of Muskegon, MI; grandparents Mike and Sherri Morin of Lutz, FL, Debbie Peterson of Tampa, FL, Don Peterson of Fort Dodge; great grandparents John and Barbara Wingard of Myakka, FL; uncles and aunt, John-Michael and Amanda Morin of Brooksville, FL and Wesley David Morin of Lutz, FL; cousins Hannah Morin of Brooksville, FL and Emily Morin of Lutz, FL; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and his dog Loki.
Hunter was preceded in death by his great grandparents Malvina and Tanner Peterson and Wilbur and Davida Morin.
Hunter was born June 15, 2001 in Cedar Rapids the son of Marcus and Amy (Peterson) Morin. He was in the 7thgrade at Benton Middle School, Van Horne.
Hunter loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and finding sticks. He also loved to play football, read, build with LEGOS and learn about history. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
