Everett L. “Lee” Boyles, 74, of Ledyard and formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died at his home, Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, at the Lafayette Church Alburnett, Iowa, with Pastor Sam Dronebarger officiating. Visitation will be an hour before service at the church. Burial will be in the Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett, Iowa.
Lee was born on March 12, 1940, in Center Point, Iowa, the son of Everett N. & Ava M. (Fishel) Boyles. He graduated from Center Point High School in 1958. On June 20, 1958, Lee was united in marriage to Judith Cooper. Lee worked in management for several box manufacturing companies starting with Weyerhauser in Cedar Rapids. He also farmed near Center Point. The couple moved to Osage, Wyoming, where Lee worked for American Colloid Mining Company. He then operated Lee’s Welding & Repair in Upton, Wyoming and Lee’s Machine Shop in Ledyard, Iowa. Judith passed away on May 7, 1990 and Lee later married Vicky Moots on May 25, 1991, Upton, Wyoming. Vicky passed away on May 1, 2014.
Lee enjoyed League Bowling and fishing. He loved visiting and telling jokes and stories with people. Lee also enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, and loved the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings. He will be remembered as an absolutely wonderful husband and father.
Lee is survived by his three children, Rhonda (Dale) Jordal of Forest City, IA, Denise Condos of Oklahoma City, OK, and Laurie (John) Ternes of Ledyard, IA; two stepsons, Patrick (Julie) Moots of Brownsville, NY, and Michael (Erin) Moots of Billings, MT; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leland “Fat” (Elsie) Boyles of Scranton, AK, Dick (Shirley) Boyles of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ivan “Bud” (Fern) Boyles of Scobey, MI; and sister-in-law, Janice Boyles of Center Point, IA.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Everett N. & Ava M. Boyles; his wives, Judith & Vicky Boyles; two grandchildren, Roberta Strong and Gordon Moots; a great granddaughter, Kimberly Hope Jordal; and a brother, Lynn Boyles.
