Obituaries : Matilda DePew

VINTON: Matilda J. DePew, 78, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Private Family services were held on Tuesday.

Matilda Pates was born January 10, 1936 in Bush, Missouri to William and Lydia Pates. She was united in marriage to Chester DePew in St. Louis, Missouri. Chester preceded Matilda in death in 2003.

Matilda cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and ‘her’ pets.

She is survived by her children, Floyd DePew of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia (James) Hale of Shellsburg, Michael DePew of Wentzville, Missouri and Arthur DePew of Vinton. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and her sister, Patricia (Jerry) Carrol of Fenton, Missouri.

In addition to her parents and husband, Matilda was preceded in death by three daughters, one son, her sister, Emma Furhmann and her brother, Charlie Pates.
