LaVonne Kruger Wiese

LaVonne Kruger Wiese, 83, formerly of Vinton, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Hiawatha Care Center in following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton with Rev. Kären Larson officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 PM, on Friday. A memorial fund has been established. LaVonne was born December 23, 1926 at Vinton to Harry and Clara A. (Bramow) Kruger. On January 26, 1947 she was united in marriage to Marvin Edward Wiese. He preceded his wife in death on December 26, 1994. Prior to her retirement, LaVonne was employed as a Telephone Operator for North Western Bell Telephone Co. In her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, needlepoint, flowers, camping and fishing. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Marty Gardner of Marion; her grandson, Eric (Tiffaney) Gardner of Colorado; her great-granddaughters, Lauren and Nichole Gardner of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Erma Fish of Winthrop and Leona Studebaker of Vinton; and her sister-in-law, Doris Kruger of Nebraska.
