NEWHALL:Kendall J. Werning, 54, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at his rural Newhall home of Cardiac Arrhythmia

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E 6th St. in Vinton, with Rev. Connie Wacht officiating.Interment will be held at later date.Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday.

Kendall was born May 10, 1960 at Waterloo to Loren and Delores (Weisert) Werning and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1978.He married Sandy Svoboda and the couple later divorced.

Kendall worked as a truck driver for Coots Materials Company.He was a member of the Shellsburg Lions Club and the Millwright's Union.He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycles in his leisure time.

He is survived by Laura Hootman and her daughters, Hope and Libby; his sister Janelle Nissen (Tom Schoonover) of Vinton, and his brother Vaughn (Lisa) Werning of Ft. Dodge; his nieces and nephews, Sarah Nissen of Belgium, Nathan Nissen of Waukee, Katelyn Werning and Carson Werning, both of Ft. Dodge and two Aunts, Maxine Briggs of Traer and Doris Werning of Cedar Rapids

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Bronson Werning on November 9, 2014.
