R. Maxine Fish

URBANA: R. Maxine Fish, 74 of Urbana died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 following an extended illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton with Rev. Loel Fink officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. Interment will be held at a later date in Parker’s Grove Cemetery. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Maxine was born March 26, 1940 to Frank Earl and Esther Harriett Dodge Niemeir in Conroy, IA. She was united in marriage to John Henry Fish on May 5, 1962 at Waukon.

Maxine was employed by Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and Amana Refrigeration. She also was a longtime stay at home mom and detassler.

In her leisure she enjoyed horses and horseback riding, fishing, camping, going woodcutting and she loved BBQ ribs and potatoes.

Maxine is survived by her three children: Steve Fish of Urbana; Dale (Dawn McDaniel) Fish and their children, Chandler McDaniel and Dalton Fish all of Shellsburg and her daughter, Dawn Fish also of Urbana. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Thelma) Niemeir of Homestead.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 2002 and two sisters, Patricia Neimeir and Betty Overton.
