GARRISON: Kim “Wally” Grimm, 58, died July 5, 2015 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton with Rev. Mark Leckband officiating. Interment will be in Garrison Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 7 PM on Wednesday. A Memorial Fund has been established.
Kim was born March 24, 1957 at Vinton to Robert and Carol (Stueck) Grimm and graduated from Washington High School in Vinton.
On January 21, 1978 he was united in marriage to Vicky Lint at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Garrison.
He had been employed at Grimm Oil in Garrison and was the owner of Wally’s Tire Service in Garrison prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Garrison and a former member of the Garrison Fire Department. Kim enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending dirt track races. He especially enjoyed trips to Minnesota and going to the “Deer Shed” with his buddies. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Kim is survived by his wife Vicky of Garrison; his daughters, Tracy (Michael) Sieck of Belle Plaine, Misty (John) Gahring of Van Horne, Michelle Grimm and special friend, Dustin Sondag of Garrison; his grandchildren, Nathan and Brayden Clemann, Abigail and Kyler Sieck, Brianna Gahring, one on the way and Rayna Wacha; his mother and step-father, Carol (Duane) Flickinger of Garrison; his father and step-mother, Robert (Carol Jean) Grimm of Garrison; his maternal grandmother, Fern Stueck of Vinton; his brother, Michael (Marlene) Grimm of Garrison; his sister, Janet Blin of Garrison; and his half brothers, Robert (Laura) Grimm Jr. of Maryland and Jeremy Grimm of Reinbeck.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Grimm, his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather; his aunt, Sally Ludden; his niece, Brittney Glime; his brother-in-law, Brad Lint and his beloved dog, Bridget.
