M. W. “Bud” McCann

SHELLSBURG:
     M. W.  “Bud” McCann, 89, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

     Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015 at Phillips Family Center- 605 2nd Ave. in Vinton with Rev. Walt Grimes officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg with Graveside Military Rites conducted by the Ray & Virginia Boyer American Legion Post #166 of Shellsburg and U.S. Navy Funeral Honors.  Friends may register at the Family Center from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday.

     “Bud” was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber McCann.  On October 2, 1948 he married Analah A.D. Huntley in Cedar Rapids.  She preceded him in death on August 12, 2013.

     “Bud” farmed and was employed at Quaker Oats for thirty years.  He loved farming and his family.

     He is survived by his daughter, Carol Overbey of Marion; his grandson, Charles (Kelly) Overbey of Urbana; and four great grandchildren, Joseph Overbey of Urbana, Jessica (Cody) Randall of Shellsburg, and Jayson and Jordan Overby, both of Urbana.

     In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings.
