VINTON: Brian Lee Duncklee passed away on August 10, 2015 at the age of 56.
Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday August 19, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. In case of rain, the service will be held at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th St), Vinton.
He was born to Jerry and Madelyn (Belknap) Duncklee on September 9, 1958 and raised in Vinton. He moved to Fayette, Iowa in 1975 and went on to get his GED through Kirkwood and then attended Wichita Automotive Institute for one year.
Later in life he resided at the Abbe Center in Marion where he was able to take small engines apart and put them back together and helped in their vegetable garden. While at the Abbe Center he was able to work through Goodwill at their workshop and made parts on an assembly line. After the Abbe Center closed in 2012, he resided at the Penn Hab House in Marion where he thrived and continued to work through Goodwill and learned to do more things on his own- cooking, laundry, shopping, etc. He loved it there and made new friends.
He is survived by his parents, his sister, Jolene Fisher, brother, Blane Duncklee, nephew, Brady Fisher, and many other family members.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Duncklee, grandparents, Ralph and Elma Belknap and Clark and Anna Duncklee, his aunt, Monica Belknap and two cousins, Mike Duncklee and Brent Netser.
