VINTON:
Glenyce Mae Johnson, 74, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
A Celebration of her life will be held at her home, 904 E. 9th St. in Vinton on Saturday, August 22, 2015 beginning at noon. Private Committal Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.
Glenyce was born January 20, 1941 in Garrison to Glenn and Loretta (Parks) Bechthold.
On September 13, 1958 she was united in marriage to Carl Dean Johnson. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Glenyce enjoyed bowling in several ladies leagues for many years. She was a member of “The Circle North of Vinton” and was an accomplished baker and decorated cakes for all occasions. She was active in Breast Cancer Awareness. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, David (Linda) Johnson, Steven (Delicia) Johnson, Jimmy (Heather) Johnson, and Darbie (Kerry) Britt; her grandchildren, Nate Gray, Shelby Baker, Glenn Johnson, Jared Baker, Alysse Johnson, Mitchell Gray, Austin Johnson, Andy Johnson, and Kayla Johnson; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene, Wayne and Bobby Lou Bechthold.
