VINTON:
     Camillo “Cam” Louise Wood, 92, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.
     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen K. Preus officiating.  Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton.  Friends may call from 4 until 7 Monday at Phillips Funeral Family Center (605 Second Avenue) in Vinton.  Memorials may be directed to the Vinton Lutheran Home or Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fayette, Iowa.

    Cam was born July 14, 1923 in Rochester, MN to Luther E. and Louise (Raddatz) Stepp.  She graduated Harpers Ferry High School and then the Paris Acadamy, now known as Capri.  On April 17, 1964 she was united in marriage to Joe Wood, Sr. in Blair, NE.
     Cam owned and operated a hair salon in Vinton for 27 years.  She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Vinton Lutheran Home Auxilliary. She also served as a volunteer at the Lutheran Home for many years.  In her leisure time Cam enjoyed quilting, oil painting and gardening.  Cam was also a member of the Federal Garden Club.  Cam was honored to receive the “Circle of Roses” award presented to her by the State of Iowa.

      She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Pat) Powers of Vinton, and Jay (Angie) Wood of Hinkley, Ohio; step-children, Joe Wood, Jr. and his friend, Judy, Lavonne Paulson, Wanita Karnopp, Edward (Roxie) Wood, Loren (Laura) Wood and Sharon Allsup and her friend, Jim; four grandchildren, Michele Sauer, Shane Powers, Allison Wood and Mitchell Wood; 11 step-grandchildren; several great and step-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Delores, Betty and Theresa; and brother-in-law, Leo.

    In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her step-grandson, Dennis Paulson and brothers, James Stepp and Vernon Stepp.
