Obituaries : Alan Keith Kimm

BLAIRSTOWN:
Alan Keith Kimm, 56, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 following an accident in Keystone.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the Blairstown Community Building. Committal Services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine at a later date.
Alan was born in Marengo to Kenneth Keith and Betty Josephine (Fisher) Kimm on April 8, 1959.
He worked as a farm laborer and in the ag industry and was currently employed at Keystone-Benton Grain. In his leisure he loved to hunt and fish all year long. Most of all he loved to go mushrooming in the spring.
Alan is survived by his father Kenneth “Matt” Kimm of Belle Plaine; his siblings, Richard H. (Ruth) Kimm of Atkins, Chris J. (Faye) Kimm of Blairstown, Laurie E. (Kevin) Knox of Ewart, and Jerry A. (Lisa) Kimm of Marion; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; step-nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Joyce McMullen and her daughter of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
