BLAIRSTOWN: Paul S. Hootman, 65, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Blairstown Legion Hall. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Benton County State Bank, Blairstown, where a fund has been established for his granddaughter Bobbi’s future needs.
Paul was born October 13, 1950 to Joseph and Eleanor (Ferrel) Hootman. He was united in marriage to “Jenny” (Virginia) Mulholland on August 16, 1970 in Cedar Rapids.
Paul owned and operated Marion Auto Parts Inc. in Marion for nearly 22 years prior to his retirement. He had a passion for antique cars. Paul enjoyed building and restoring those cars and when he ran out of room for them, he enjoyed building more garages to hold them. He also liked to go to car shows. Paul also enjoyed traveling to Arkansas and camping at Hannen Lake. Most of all he enjoyed going fishing with his granddaughter, Bobbi Jeanne.
Paul is survived by his wife, “Jenny” Virginia Hootman of Blairstown; his granddaughter, Bobbi Jeanne Vick of Blairstown; his brothers and sisters, Anna (Roland) Ortery of Arkansas, Barbara Raue of Florida, Larry (Clara) Hootman, Jan Money of Arizona, David (Marian) Hootman of Arizona, Mark Hootman of Burlington and Glenn Hootman of Exline and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tina Hootman; brother, Kenneth and an infant sister, Joyce Hootman.
