Obituaries : Bradley Lee Benfer

VINTON - Bradley Lee Benfer, 80, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Brad's wishes were to be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date. Brad was born March 1, 1936, in Vinton, the son of Donovan and Arlein Kroymann Benfer. He was raised in the Vinton/Garrison area and graduated from Garrison High School. Brad proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. On October 20, 1954, Brad was united in marriage with Shirley Kiesel in Cedar Rapids. The couple lived in the Vinton area where Brad farmed. . She preceded him in death in 2009. He was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran church. Brad is survived by his children, grandchildren and siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; and one granddaughter.
