Obituaries : Millie Jane Carrier (nee Kimm)

Millie Jane Carrier (nee Kimm) of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly Vinton, Iowa, passed on to a much gentler after-life on May 7, 2017, as she listened to her granddaughter softly sing "˜Amazing Grace' to her. Graveside services will take place at 11am on Saturday, May 13, 2017, in Evergreen Cemetery, in Vinton, IA. There will be a private viewing one hour prior at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue, Vinton, Iowa.

Millie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Hoyt; and her infant great-granddaughter Carla Marie Carrier.

Millie is survived by her sons Hoyt E Carrier II ("˜Skip') and his wife Kathy, Mark D Carrier, and Joel C Carrier. She is also survived by her grandkids Elizabeth A Dzwonek (Luke), Hoyt E Carrier III, Evan C Carrier (Brianna); and great-grandson Henry Dzwonek. Also special friend Bill Hogan of Winter Haven, FL.

A graveside service is planned for Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11am, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, Iowa. A private viewing will take place at the Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue, Vinton, Iowa one hour prior and a light luncheon will be served at the Vinton Country Club following the graveside service.
