Obituaries : Robert 'Bob' Ealy

Robert "Bob"� Ealy, 73, entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.

Robert Ray Ealy was born February 14, 1944, at Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Leslie and Jane Nichols Ealy. He attended local schools and graduated from Vinton High School with the class of 1962.

Robert was united in marriage to Carol Helms on April 26, 1980, at Lamont, Iowa. They lived in Lamont for 36 years. Bob worked for Alliant Energy for over 41 years, retiring in 2005.

Bob liked to read, fish and play golf at the Backbone Golf Club. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons and other family play sports. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leslie and Jane Ealy; his in-laws: Bernie and Della Helms; and his son-in-law, Kevin Mentzer.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Lamont; his daughter, Fay Mentzer of Gilbert, AZ; two grandsons: Zachary and Kyle Mentzer; sister, Judy Edwards of Seattle, WA; brother, Joe Ealy of Helena, MT; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Strawberry Point with Father Paul Peters officiating. Interment will be in St. Albert's Cemetery, near Lamont, Iowa.
