Gloria Faye Edwards peacefully left our loving embrace on February 18, 2018. She was born in Clay County Iowa on August 3, 1931 to Audrey and Chester Pullen. She was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, wife, sister, aunt, gramma, great gramma and friend.
A naturally gifted artist, she received her BA degree in Art Education from Drake University. She was the first in our family to get a degree. She shared her love of art not only with her students at Nash-Kirkwood Elementary and Park Avenue Elementary, but also her family, creating her famous handmade calendars that she lovingly personalized for her special people each year.
Gloria appreciated the democratic process and worked the polls for many years. She was a member of the Unitarian Church and enjoyed her Unity Circle group.
She enriched the lives she touched with her beautiful smile and welcoming invitation to “come by the house”.
She is survived by her three children Terry, Sherry (Vidar Andresen), and Ger (Tara Johannsen); grandchildren Jan-Michael (Holli) and Kristofer Andresen (Aubrey Watts), Nick (Courtney and kids Ryleigh and Hayden), Joe (Marc Schmidt) and Mike Edwards; her brothers Doug, Ted and Keith Pullen, loving nieces, and her loyal Maltese Vicki. Gloria’s wish is for you to celebrate her life by celebrating your own life with love and respect for your family, friends and the folks you meet along the way.
Memorials can be given in Gloria’s name to organizations that you hold dear to your heart.
