Obituaries : Edith Goodell

Edith Sue Goodell, 71, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Vinton, Iowa, died May 21, 2019, after a brief illness at Pathways Hospice in Tuscon, Ariz.

She was born May 26, 1947 in Vinton to Beryl and Dorothy Scott.

She attended school in Vinton and following graduation Edith worked at Rockwell International in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

After 42 years at Rockwell, Edith retired and split her time between Iowa and Arizona, permanently moving to Green Valley in 2012.

She enjoyed socializing with friends and playing golf, including spending time with The Niners golf crew.

Edith is survived by her long-time companion, Jim Leslie of Green Valley; her two daughters: Renae Goodell of Lakewood, Wash., and Susan Gay of Whitsett, N.C.; two brothers: David (Elaine) Scott of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Butch Scott of Vinton, Iowa; two grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Per her wishes, Edith was cremated and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
