Ronnie Dee Thompson, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his home in Elberon.

A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. 

Ronnie was born on August 6, 1943 in Illinois, the son of Richard and Ruie (Lowder) Thompson.  On March 2, 1984, he married Barbara Brobst in Vinton.

Ronnie worked as a tuckpointer and roofer for D.C. Taylor Company.  He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles and playing cowboy in 1880’s clubs and was a member of the “hole in the sock gang”

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Elberon; his children, Robin Thompson of North English, Ronette Thompson of Georgia, Tony Thompson of Belle Plaine, Amanda Thompson of Elberon; his step-sons, Harry Meader of Elberon, and Nick Meader of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters; and two grandsons; his brother Rex (Paula) Thompson of Vinton; and his sister Retta (Bob) Rice of Shellsburg. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son Ted Thompson.
