URBANA: Bernitta Violet Boyles Fee, 74, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton, with Pastor Walt Grimes officiating. Interment will be held at Cox Cemetery near Urbana. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until service time on Thursday.
Bernitta was born July 28, 1936 in Center point to Donald and Dorothy (Bascom) Boyles. Bernitta worked at Weyerhauser Co. in Cedar Rapids. On December 24, 1959, she married Earl Fee in Independence. Bernitta Loved to garden and grow flowers. She loved spending time at the local convenience store with the local residents. Her four very special friends Mary Lou, Thelma, Delores and Mary held a warm spot in her heart. She loved spending time with her family, but the dearest person in her life was her little great-granddaughter, Aiva with whom she shared many chocolate covered raisins.
Bernitta is survived by her husband, Earl; two daughters, Connie (Frank) Michael and Trudy (Ray) Purdy , all of Urbana; one step-daughter, Carol (Mick) Welsh of Williamsburg; one sister, Linda Morris of Center Point; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one step great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evelyn; and one step-grandson.
Bernitta was loved by many, and will be missed by many.
