Barbara Ann Quinlan, 79, of Belle Plaine passed away Sunday June 21, 2020 peacefully at her home.

Barbara was born September 9, 1940 in Dubuque, IA the daughter of Harold and Rosemary (Vogel) Berkley. She attended school in Dubuque before moving with her family to Dyersville, IA where she graduated from St. Francis Xavier High School in Dyersville. Following school, she worked as a nurse's aide before meeting Gary Thomas Quinlan. They married April 24, 1965 at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Dyersville. Together the couple moved to Dubuque where they began their family. They moved around Eastern Iowa until settling in Belle Plaine, IA in 1973. Barbara worked odd jobs while spending most of her career as a housewife and mother.

Barbara enjoyed flowers, gardening, and viewing bald eagles. Above everything Barbara loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Gary T. Quinlan of Belle Plaine; children, Lynn (Pat) O'Neill of Solon, Lori Wauters of Belle Plaine, Gary J. (Tammi) Quinlan of Montezuma, Karen (Brian) Urban of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Cindy) Quinlan of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Joyce Coleman of Dubuque, Mary (Duane) Manderscheid of Sun City West, AZ; grandchildren, Melissa, Jordyn, Jazzmyn, Riley, Jason, Quintin, Josh, Cole, and Abbie.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Kenny Wauters; brother, Bill Berkley; brothers-in-law Ed Coleman, and Harry Quinlan.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Private family graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, at a later date.
