Marilyn K. Silker, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at University Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) Vinton, with Rev. Kurt Brubaker officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM also at the funeral home on Monday. A memorial fund has been established.

Due to COVID 19 concerns, face coverings will be worn for visitation and the funeral service.

Marilyn was born on August 22, 1937 in Rockford, IA, the daughter of Walter and Lillian (Linercamp) Gruber. Marilyn was united in marriage to Kenneth "Ken" Silker on July 22,1973 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Marilyn worked as a grain buyer at ADM in Cedar Rapids for 24 years. She was an active member of the George G. Luckey American Legion Auxiliary, where she enjoyed making poppy sprays for veterans. She & Ken enjoyed traveling and tending her flowers and garden on their acreage.

She is survived by her husband Ken; children, Jim (Penny) Zielstorf of Garwin, Roger Zielstorf of Davenport, Jeff (Amy) Silker of Oelwein, Mike Silker of Cedar Rapids; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marlys Andrews of Kalona, IL and Marian Stuffelbeam of Rockford, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her great-great grandson; and her sister Mary Miller.
