Obituaries : John Louie "Bubba" Shuffield

John Louie "Bubba" Shuffield, 79, of Cameron, Texas, formerly of Vinton, Iowa, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, in his home. Funeral services were Dec. 19, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will be at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Shuffield, a retired pipefitter, was born Aug. 16, 1941, in Corpus Christi to Raymond and Mary Alice (Webb) Shuffield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Joan Anne Cummins in August 1983. He was a life member of the V.F.W., a member of the American Legion and a member of the San Adres Lodge A.F. & A. M.
John loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He did a lot of traveling with the work he did and really enjoyed spending his summers in Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Shuffield of Cameron; sons, Kenneth "Spookey" Shuffield and wife Dianne of Cameron and William Hanlon of North Carolina; daughters, Cindy Sirles and husband Kenneth of Pasadena, Shannon Delgado of Pasadena, Brenda Lowery and husband Ralph of Missouri, Roseann Schwenker and husband Leon of Iowa and Jo Anne Hanlon and husband Blair of Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
