Obituaries : James (J’Me) Allen Schuelka

James (J'Me) Allen Schuelka, 49, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at VGH in Vinton following a sudden illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

J'Me was born September 3, 1971, in Iowa City, IA, the son of John Henry and Vicki Maye Tharp Schuleka, Jr. While in Job Corps, J'Me earned his GED and education in carpentry.

On July 31, 2010, J'Me was united in marriage with Sonja Kimm at Riverside Park in Vinton.

J'Me was employed as a tuckpointer for Roster Tuckpointing. As a result of his profession, J'Me loved driving around and looking at brick buildings. He also found joy in demolition derbies, panning for gold, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family.

J'Me is survived by his wife, Sonja; son, Matthew (Amy Thomas) Kimm; five daughters: Liberty Schuelka, Breanna Uthoff, Annie Lerch, Brittani (Cody) Perez and Hannah (Michael Urbanek) Kimm; two brothers: Jason (Angelina Hunter) Schuelka and John (Shelly) Schuelka III; sister, Jolene Schuelka; four grandchildren: Nevaeh Schuelka, Cody Jr. and Sophia Ann Perez and LeRoy Swallon.

J'Me was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and other extended family.
