Douglas Gene Thompson, age 69, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 7, 2021 at his home in Vinton

Private family services will be held.

Douglas was born October 9, 1951 to William and Arlene (Bushnell) Thompson. He attended Washington High School in Vinton. He served his country in the United States Army and later enlisted in the Navy. He had been employed at Denton Castings in Brandon. Doug loved spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Lisa Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, and Luann Loeb of Waterloo; and a niece and 3 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Linda Schager.
