Gladys Marie Spinler, 93, of Chelsea, IA passed away, January 9, 2022 at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.

Gladys was born February 8, 1928 to Joseph and Helen (Chesick) Kasal in Rural Chelsea. She attended country school till 8th grade and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1945. On February 12, 1951, Gladys married Lawrence Spinler on the Spinler family farm in rural Chelsea. Together they worked the farm and raised their family.

Gladys liked gardening, flowers, crosswords, puzzles, and was a great baker. In her youth she enjoyed spending time with the neighbors. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Shirlene) Spinler of Chelsea; grandchildren, Kimberly (Galen) Schwartz of Luzerne, Kevin (Krissi) Spinler of Blairstown; and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; brothers, Carl, Melvin, and Harold Kasal.
