Obituaries : Verlyn Wilfrid Rieck

Verlyn Wilfrid Rieck, 74 of Luzerne, IA passed away March 21,2022 at his home.

Verlyn was born November 25, 1947, to Vernon and Helen (Duncalf) Rieck. He graduated from Benton Community High School, Class of 1966. Verlyn furthered his education by attending Iowa State University and received his bachelor's degree in 1971 in Farm Operation. Verlyn farmed the family dairy farm alongside his parents and sold Uthoff Hybrids Seed Corn.

Verlyn enjoyed the simple things in life. Verlyn enjoyed farming, tractors, driving around in his pickup to eat at his favorite restaurants, going to the Marshalltown races, local casinos, and tractor shows. In his most recent years, Verlyn loved watching the Niebes and Hamilton boys farm his ground as he followed close by in his golf cart.

Verlyn is survived by his companion dog, Taco; along with many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon (2001) and Helen (2004).

Memorial service is at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 2, 2002, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.

Visitation is one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
