Maxine Marie Siemens, 93 of La Porte City, went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, April 22, 2022.

She was born September 17, 1928 in Traer, daughter of Alexander and Louise (Yanda) Thompson. She married Wallace C. Siemens June 27, 1951, he preceded her in death on August 12, 1974.

Maxine was a loving wife and mother to her eight children, devoting her entire life to them and being there for so many others. She was thoughtful, selfless, compassionate, giving, patient, and a very hard worker - who never complained.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Johnson, Karen Smith, Sherry (Thomas) Albertson, Rosella West, all of La Porte City; two sons, Jerry (Cathy) Siemens of Vinton, and Rick (Angie) Siemens of La Porte City, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren with one on the way and eight great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Wallace L. Siemens, Charles (Chuck) Siemens; two sisters, Mildred Young and Helen Stevens; four brothers, Edward, Marvin, Wayne and infant brother, William Thompson.

There will be no public visitations due to recent Covid exposure. A small private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11am with a private family viewing for an hour prior to the service. Her burial will be held at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Maxine will be remembered for her nurturing loving ways and her genuine heart of gold. She would tell it like it is, always speaking the truth, whether you liked it or not. The ole Maggie (lol), her catchphrases and words of wisdom will be treasured forever.

Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, fishing, going to garage sales, family gatherings and looked forward to the holidays, as her family continued to grow. Later on, in her life she enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels at the feeders outside her window, waiting patiently for the hummingbirds to return in the spring. She loved watching the Golden Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, The 3 Stooges and TV Ministers, especially John Hagee. Saturday nights were most precious to her as she got to spend time with her two great grandsons, Everett and Abraham, watching and listening to the Molly B Polka Party.

In the last seven years of her life, she was unable to walk, but her daily walk with the Lord never wavered, she endured until the end. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her… until we meet again.

"She is clothed with strength & dignity; she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her." Proverbs 31:25-31
