Margaret Mary Ure, age 73, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at her home in Amana, with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Father Jacob Dunne officiating. A luncheon will be held following the service. Interment will be held at Mound Cemetery, Watkins. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on July 22, 1950, in Carroll, IA, the daughter of Richard and Leonora (Naberhaus) Rothmeyer. She graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1968. On August 23, 1969, she was united in marriage to Loyal Ivan Ure in Omaha, NE. Loyal preceded Margaret in death on March 14, 2009.

Margaret enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling with Loyal and her family. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters; Joan (Phillip "Chuck") Jones of Amana, Christine (Scott) Wilhelm of Blairstown; 5 grandchildren, Aimee (Trevor) Lomen, Bryce Jones, Chase Jones, Cindy (Kyle) Brunssen, Brandon (Reanna) Wilhelm; 7 great grandchildren, Dempsey Lomen, Isaak Schmitz, Nathan Schmitz, Levi Schmitz, Jackson Schmitz, Aubree Brunssen, and Anastasia Brunssen; sisters, Elizabeth Chayet, Barbara Butler, Donna Clausen, Marilyn (Allen) Long,; brothers, Ron (Sheila) Rothmeyer, John (Paula) Rothmeyer; Vincent (Deb) Rothmeyer, Jerry (Kayla) Rothmeyer; sister-in-law, Kristi Rothmeyer; and brother-in-law Terry Bingaman

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Loyal; sisters, Rose Bingaman; Ruth (John) Von Guerard brothers, Richard Rothmeyer, Joseph Rothmeyer in infancy; brothers-in-law Norton Chayet, Joseph Butler, and Ted Dunlap.
