Janet Elaine Prusha, 83, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away October 6, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Janet was born June 1, 1940 on the family farm south of Belle Plaine to Leo and Violet (Stanek) Formanek. Growing up on the farm she went to country school and graduated from Belle Plaine High School, and played Saxophone for the band.

On July 9, 1960, Janet married her high school sweetheart Roger Prusha at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. She worked as a secretary for Norgaard's law firm, and later at Bumper to Bumper and Country Foods.

Janet was a quiet and kind woman who loved her ice cream and her dog. She had many interests and talents, including a green thumb for plants and flowers, was artistic and crafty, enjoyed doing puzzles, and collecting antiques. Janet was a great cook and looked forward to holidays and family gatherings. She was always a gracious host and made sure to prepare plenty of food.

Janet had a good sense of humor and enjoyed being with people, camping with friends, fishing and road trips. She will be remembered as a dedicated, daughter, wife, mother and friend.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roger Prusha of Belle Plaine; sons, Steven (Tina) Prusha of Amana, and Michael (Connie) Prusha of Iowa City; grandchildren, Garett Prusha, Laura (Matthew) Roling, Ashley Prusha, Mikayla Prusha; great-granddaughter, Ella Roling; step-grandchildren, Chuck and Tom Compton, sister-in-law, Jeanette (Wayne) Jensen, Joanie (Wayne) Cassady and numerous nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com
