Obituaries : Madalyn Scottie Pink

Madalyn Scottie Pink, infant daughter of Spencer and Shelby (Schallau) Pink, passed away in the loving arms of her family on Monday, October 9, 2023 in the N.I.C.U. at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Private family services will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton.

Madalyn was born on September 5, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the daughter of Spencer and Shelby (Schallau) Pink.  She fought a valiant fight and was dearly loved for the 34 days of her life.

Madalyn is survived by her parents; paternal uncle, Austin (Breanne) Pink of Independence; maternal grandmother, Stephanie Schallau of Keystone; paternal grandparents, Loren and Angie Pink of Independence; cousins, Caden, and McCoy Pink maternal great-grandparents, Joann Schallau of Van Horne, Jean (Bob) Ohlen of Blairstown, and Larry Miller of Wapello.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Scott Schallau in January of this year; maternal great-grandfather Steve Schallau in May of this year; and her paternal great-grandparents, Jim, and Jan Corkery, and Leon, and Alice Pink.
