Obituaries : Ronald Dean Lamphier

Ronald Dean Lamphier, 58, of Vinton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at First Christian Church in Center Point, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the church. Burial: Center Point Cemetery. The family requests causal dress or your favorite sports themed attire. A luncheon will immediately follow the burial at the church. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, is assisting the family.

Ron was born May 27, 1965, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Marion and Ruby (Lovell) Lamphier. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1983. Ron was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and First Christian Church. He loved hunting, spending time with his family, watching his daughters do their extra-curricular activities and watching the Vikings and the Chicago Cubs

Ron is survived by his significant other, Annette Thomsen; daughters, Ashe (CJ) Jenerou, Kaitlyn (Matthew) Scovel, and Madason (Payton) McCarty; grandson, John Jenerou, father, Marion (Diana) Lamphier; siblings, Deb (Doug) Labs, Carrie (Steve) Petersen, and James (Amanda) Lamphier; favorite aunt, Dixie (Dave) Carothers; and grand-puppies.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother and her husband, Ruby and Jack Wethington and his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
