Obituaries : Donn Douglas Ashlock

Donn Douglas Ashlock, 71, of rural Brandon, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023, after a short illness. A visitation will be held from 1 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.

Donn was born December 5, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Lyle and DeVee (Oliphant) Ashlock and grew up on a farm near Center Point. He graduated from Center Point Consolidated School, Class of 1970. Donn worked as a fence installer for Sears, Montgomery Ward, Lifetime Fence, D&N Fence, and Iowa Fence Masters; he retired in 2015. Donn was a member of Pheasants Forever, the NRA, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Tucker; son, Wade (Amy) Ashlock; grandchildren, Austin Tucker, Haley Tucker, and Grayson Ashlock; siblings, Howard (Sandra) Ashlock, Alan (Terry) Ashlock, Janet (Bill) Gross, and Jody (Joe) Morrissey; special friend, Rita Zook; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Norman Ashlock.
