Bob was born October 20, 1949 in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Merrill and Lillian "Sunny" (Hodowud) Frescoln. He married Karen-Jo Egel, October 30, 1977 in Miami, Florida. Bob met the love of his life, Karen, while they were both working for Miami Beach Police Department. After getting married, they left the police department and moved to Iowa so they could raise a family on his family farms.
Bob retired from the United States Postal Service. During his time working for USPS he also was a First Responder, a member of the Batavia Lions Club, and served as a Lay Leader at the Batavia United Methodist Church where he devoted his life to Jesus and spread God’s word to others. He enjoyed reading about military history, crosswords, Clint Eastwood films, Star Trek and Star Wars, and Iowa State Athletics. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his wife, Karen-Jo, his children and grandchildren. Robert also had a special bond with his nieces, nephews and everyone who entered his life.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karen-Jo; son, Stephen and his wife, Gayle Frescoln of Van Horne, Iowa; daughters, Lillian Frescoln of Libertyville, and Heidi Frescoln of Batavia; grandchildren, Parker, Preston, Jonathan, and Alexander; brothers, Richard (Kathy) Frescoln of Batavia, and Randy (Carolyn) Frescoln of Norwalk, Iowa; and an aunt, Cheryl Hodowud of Surfside, FL.
