Obituaries : David Shawn Flaucher

David Shawn Flaucher, 60, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away November, 27, 2023 at his home.

David was born October 6, 1963 to Richard and Elizabeth (King) Flaucher in Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Washington High School and enlisted into the U.S. Navy in August 1983. Serving on the USS Point Loma and USS Vancouver as a Hull Maintenance Technician with Inport and At Sea Emergency Response Team. Upon returning from service, David lived in California before eventually moving back to Benton County. Settling in Belle Plaine he worked for Benco Manufacturing and upon there closer went to work for Friedman Farm Supply and most recently Kinze Manufacturing.

David married Kathleen Frasher; later the couple went their separate ways.

David was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Flaucher; grandchildren, Kody Flaucher, 19, Karter Coursey, 17, and Abigail Stuprich, 10 all of Jacksonville, FL; siblings, Jeanne Stoner of Keystone, Richard Flaucher, Michael Bell of Cedar Rapids, Lee E. Flaucher of Cedar Rapids, Steven L. Flaucher of Marion, and many nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his parents; and dog, Abby.
