Harriet Mae Pickart, 95, of Amana, Ia., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 following a brief illness at Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo, Ia.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23rd at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway, Ia. Interment will be at the Norway Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Michael's Parish Hall.

Harriet was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Norway, Ia., to Ole and Amber (Linn) Holland. Following graduation from Norway Schools in 1945, she wed David Pickart at St. Michael's on June 28, 1948. David and Harriet raised their family on farms outside of Norway and Blairstown, before moving to Norway in 1969, and then Amana in 2000. Harriet was employed for many years by the Norway Schools, and worked at the Amana General Store. Harriet was also a travel agent alongside her sister-in-law, Thelma Holland.

Harriet cherished time visiting with her family and many friends, who could frequently find her relaxing on the front porch or tending to her beautiful flower beds. Harriet was strong in her faith and love for her Savior, she was a regular attendee at St. Michael's for more than 70 years. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Harriet is survived by her youngest brother, Robert Dean Holland of Norway; five children, Gerald of Marengo, Bruce (Liz) of Labadie, Mo., Terry of Norway, Mark (Regina) of Lake Havasu, Az., daughter, Lorie (Steve) Davis of Prosper, Tx.; seven grandchildren, Thad Pickart, Damien (Vanessa) Pickart, Rachel (Josh) Lathrop, Erin (Erik) Schulte, Jason Pickart, Shelly (Joe) Koehn, Dustin (Robin) Pickart; nine great-grandchildren, Caroline (Samuel) Krapfl, Alejandro Pickart, Jordan, Max and Mary Lathrop, Calvin and Holley Schulte, Evan and Abby Koehn; and one great, great-grandchild, Nathaniel Krapfl.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harris and Mayo Holland; sister, Jesse Law; husband, David in 2005; and eldest son, David Allen in 2021.
