Obituaries : Sandra Jean Christensen

Sandra Jean Christensen, 86 of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home.

Sandra was born February 25, 1938, in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Harold William and Lavera (Peters) Holloway. At an early age she moved with her family to Cedar Rapids where she graduated from Franklin High School. Following school, she joined a traveling band singing her way around the Midwest.  In the late 50's Sandra met Eugene Leland Christensen, the couple were married at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Together they lived in Cedar Rapids until moving to their farm near Elberon, IA. Sandra worked as an executive secretary for Metalcrafts in Cedar Rapids. 

Sandra is survived by her brother, David (Betty) Holloway of Cedar Rapids, brother-in-law's, Paul Knight of Cedar Rapids, Dwayne Christensen of Belle Plaine, Clare Christensen of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Nial Dicken, Husband, Eugen Christensen and sister, Kay Knight.

A private service will be at a later date.
