Diana (Winsor) West, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with her loving family by her side.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. A Celebration of Diana's Life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.

Diana was born on April 17, 1960, the daughter of Keith and Joyce (Schrader) Winsor. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, with the class of 1978, and furthered her education at Kirkwood Community College, where she received her culinary degree. On October 21, 1978, she was united in marriage to Gordy West in Vinton. The couple later divorced. Diana worked at the Viking Galley as a teenager, and later became a co-owner. She later worked as head cook at the Ron-Da-Voo in Vinton for 24 years.

Diana enjoyed bowling and was a member of a State Championship team. She also played in several pool leagues in her younger years. She was a very social person and had an infectious laugh. She enjoyed gardening and canning as well as making homemade jelly. She was famous for her potato salad and monster cookies. She was also an advocate for autism awareness. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by: her children, Jessi (Marty) Lee of Hills, IA, Erica West of Cedar Rapids, Joshua (Vanessa) West of Vinton; her six grandchildren, Sami, Michael, Iszack, Jonathan, Creighton, and Palmer; two brothers, Kevin (Teri) Winsor, Jeff (Lisa) Winsor, and her sister, Barb Winsor, all of Vinton; step-father, Gene Cole; step-siblings, Valerie Tichenor and Doug Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
