Lynn A. Arthur, 89, formerly of Mt. Auburn, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. No services will be held at this time. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Lynn and his family.
Lynn was born March 14, 1935, in La Porte City, the son of Russell and Lucille (Kohler) Arthur. He attended school in La Porte City, graduating in 1953. Lynn proudly served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He was employed as a patternmaker for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. On June 2, 1961, Lynn was united in marriage to Shirley Bauer at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dysart.
In his leisure time, Lynn enjoyed woodworking, photography, "tinkering", camping, fishing, boating, and anytime spent with family. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, La Porte City, and the Patternmakers League of North America.
Left to cherish Lynn's memory are his wife of 63 years, Shirley of Vinton; son, Todd (Kathy) Arthur of Palo; daughter, Erin Devilbiss of Monticello; four grandchildren: Robert (Melynda) Arthur of Mt. Auburn, Nathan Arthur of Quincy, MA, Devanee Devilbiss of La Porte City, and Eden Devilbiss of Monticello; three great-grandchildren: Eli, Abigail, and Kora Arthur of Mt. Auburn; and sister-in-law, Eleanor (Donald) Roquet of Keystone.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents.
