Cathy J. Becker, 67, died Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Hiawatha Care Center, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the St. Stephens Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Atkins.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, also at the church in Atkins, with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  A luncheon will follow the service.  Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Keystone at 2:00 PM.  Memorials may be directed to the Atkins Public Library or the Atkins Volunteer Fire Department.

Cathy was born on November 9, 1956, in Vinton, to John and Charlene (Van Horbeck) Pickart, and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1975.  On March 13, 1976, she was united in marriage to Roger Becker at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne.  Roger preceded Cathy in death in 2001, at the age of 45.

Cathy worked as the Director of the Atkins Public Library for almost 30 years, where her love of reading was allowed to flourish.  In her leisure, Cathy enjoyed quilting, crafting, and time spent camping with her family.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and following their activities was a special joy.

Cathy is survived by her sons, David (Angie) Becker of Atkins, Brandon Becker of Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Brody (Abbey) McKeag, Madelyn McKeag, Jonathon Becker, and Anthony Becker; her siblings, Larry (Lori) Pickart of Robins, Vicky (Rick) Myers of Palo, and Darin Pickart of Keystone; sister-in-law, Dorene Pickart of Keystone; brothers-in-law, Andy (Deanne) Becker of Atkins, Dan (Ruth) Becker of Williamsburg, Kevin (Pam) Becker of Atkins; sister-in-law, Karla (Tim) Cress of Port Ludlow, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husband Roger, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Pickart; in-laws, Wilferd, and Dorothy Becker, and brother-in-law Jeff and his wife Cheryl Becker.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hiawatha Care Center, and St. Croix Hospice for the loving care they provided for Cathy.
