Obituaries : Wayne Bruce Petersen

Wayne Bruce Petersen, 77, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born October 23, 1947, in Vinton, Iowa, a son of Lloyd Charles and Dorothy Ann (Junge) Petersen, both deceased. He was a graduate of Dysart High School and the University of Iowa.
Wayne started his work life as a bank examiner before moving on to farming. He found a successful career as an insurance agent in Iowa and the lake area, where he retired. Wayne enjoyed boating and spending quality time with his friends.
Survivors include three brothers: Neil James Petersen (Annette), Thomas Kent Petersen, Michael Jay Petersen (Donna); a special friend, Sandy Kennedy; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends around the Lake area. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn Allen Petersen.
Services will be held at a later date.
