Gary Allen Lough, 77, of Luzerne, Iowa passed away on January 8, 2025, at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa, Iowa. Gary was born May 13, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Lester and Evelyn (Ritz) Lough. He married Marilyn J. Closser July 3, 1965. Gary graduated from Davis County High School, Bloomfield, Iowa in 1965; and graduated from Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a B.A. Degree in Computer Science in 1988. He was an engineer at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for 36 years and retired in 2009. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Belle Plaine, Iowa. He is survived by his wife; Marilyn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Roger (Karen) Lough of Luzerne, Iowa, Mike (Angie) Lough, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one daughter, Tammy (Nicole) Schroeder of Iowa City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Trevor (Hanna) Lough of Pella, Iowa, Kelsey (Will) Bird of Luzerne, Iowa, Alexis Lough of Troy Mills, Iowa, Savannah Lough; four great grandchildren, Millie, Maren, Kinley, and Wrenley; two sisters, Janet (Chuck) McVey of Rose Hill, Iowa, Roseanne (Larry) Van Horn of Springfield, Virginia; one brother Warren (Bonnie) Lough of Kingsport, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine, Iowa with family present one hour prior. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine at a later date. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 15th at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
