Phyllis Jean Millard Mischke, daughter of James and Mary (Morlan) Millard was born in Jefferson, Iowa on October 16, 1945. She passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on January 16, 2025 at the age of 79 years.
Phyllis grew up in Jefferson, Iowa. On November 13, 1965 she was united in marriage to Charlie Mischke. They were the proud parents of three children: Mary, Jim, and Gayle. They lived in Churdan where Phyllis stayed at home raising the children.
Phyllis loved her five grandchildren very much and loved spending time with them. Every day she had to watch the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune and she also enjoyed watching the Hallmark movies. She also loved to watch the Gaither Homecoming Videos and enjoyed singing and dancing while watching them. She also enjoyed going to concerts.
Phyllis had lived at The Gardens since August, 2023. During her time there she enjoyed making friends, playing Bingo, doing many activities, including listening to music groups perform. She loved having her nails and hair done. All she ever wanted for Christmas was to be with her family. The things most important in her life where her family, God, which included her church family.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Mary (Bryon) Burkey of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jim (Lynn) Mischke of Van Horne, IA, and Gayle (Ron) Pike of Jefferson, IA; five grandchildren: Aaron Burkey, Joshua Burkey, Leah Burkey, Christopher Mischke, and Charlie Pike; her siblings: Darrel (Linda) Millard, Ivan (Kathy) Millard, Eva (Jerry) Radcliffe, and Avis (Roger) Moranville; Nieces; Nephews; other relatives; and friends.
A Memorial Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Gospel Open Bible Church in Jefferson with Pastor Chad Cummings officiating. Interment will be at Highland Township Cemetery, Churdan, IA. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Gospel Open Bible Church.
