A Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.
Born on December 20, 1960, LeeAnn lived a life full of compassion, creativity, and care. She spent 42 years as a nurse at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, where she became a trusted friend and caregiver to so many. Her warmth, dedication, and genuine kindness made her a comforting presence to all who knew her. Her ability to connect with others and offer comfort was unmatched. She poured her heart into her work, always going the extra mile to make sure her patients felt seen and cared for.
Outside of her nursing career, LeeAnn had an incredible passion for art. She loved being creative-whether it was painting, crafting, or simply finding beauty in everyday life. Her artistic spirit was one of the many things that made her unique. She found peace in creating, and her art will always be a reminder of the light she brought into this world.
LeeAnn cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed golf cart rides at the cabin and sitting on the swing outside of the house. Time with her was easy, her calm demeanor was a place of comfort for those who spent time with her. Being surrounded by loved ones brought her so much joy, and she treasured the memories made there.
LeeAnn was a daughter, sister and aunt who loved us with a depth that words can hardly describe. She wanted nothing in return except to be part of her amazing family. Her life was always about others-making sure she did her part as a sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver. She gave all of herself without hesitation, and her love and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
LeeAnn is survived by her siblings, David Smith, Eric Sauer, Pete (Michele) Sauer, all of Vinton, Brett (Amy) Smith, of Palo, and Angie Roberts of Hurricane, WV; nieces and nephews, Christine Abbott, Savannah (Andrew) Murray, Taylor Roberts, Sam (Paula) Sauer, Beth (John) Martin, Harley Owen, Rocco Gentilella, Caleb & Joshua Sauer; great niece and nephew, Hudson Murray and Adeline Martin, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos Sauer, Fern and Donald Smith and nephew Bradley Smith.
LeeAnn's memory will live on in the lives she touched, the art she created, the time spent with her family, and the kindness she shared. Rest in peace, LeeAnn.
