Obituaries : Lois Marie Livingston

Lois Marie Livingston, 86, formerly of Atkins, was reunited with her loving husband, James, on Monday, September 8, 2025 following complications of Alzheimer’s. Respecting Lois’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family. 

Lois is survived by her children, Larry (Denys) Livingston of Walford, Lori Castille of Temecula, CA., and Angela Busch of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Livingston of Urbandale, Justin (Aly) Livingston of Ely, Alexis Busch of Austin, Texas, and Austin “AJ” Busch of Cedar Rapids; and one great-granddaughter, Taytum Livingston of Ely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her siblings, Edna, Elinor, Benny, and Howard; and her in-laws, Annie, Marian, Joseph, Jack and Keith.

Lois was born on September 19, 1938, in Waterville, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey and Ellen (Rongstad) Rolfs. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1954 and later attended Coe College. On September 16, 1961, Lois married James Livingston at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. They shared nearly 57 years of marriage before his death in 2018.

Lois worked for many years with AT&T Telephone Company. She will be remembered for her love of family, her enjoyment of travel, and the countless hours she spent cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.
