Mildred M. “Milly” (Losenicky) Hilmer, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at The Vinton Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton, with Pastor Darrian Adkins officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM, Friday, also at the church.  A memorial fund has been established.

Mildred was born on March 19, 1932, in Monroe Township, northeast of Dysart to Albert and Mary (Flider) Losenicky Sr.. She attended Dysart High School, graduating in 1950.  Following graduation, Milly was walking down the street in Dysart, when a young man, Carroll Hilmer whistled at her.  This was the beginning of their courtship.  Carroll returned from Korea after 2 years and the couple were married on September 4, 1954 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton. Milly worked at Brenton Bank for 20 years, followed by working at Wilson-Hite Insurance, retiring after 15 years.  Milly and Carroll loved to travel, choosing to drive in order to see more sights.  National Parks and the state of Wisconsin were favorite destinations.  Milly and her sister traveled to Czechoslovakia in 1975 to visit their parent’s homeland.

Milly is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband Carroll in 2017; 2 sisters, Anna Knaack, and Agnes Docekal; and her brother, Albert Losenicky Jr..
