Phyllis Jean Koob, 96, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Nations Cottage Western Home Communities. She was born August 22, 1929, in Waterloo, the daughter of John H. and Volline H. Christiansen Jacobsen. She was a graduate of Waterloo West High School.
For 72 years, she was married to the love of her life, Floyd E. Koob. They were married on May 22, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on January 7, 2022.
Phyllis worked as an Administrative Assistant and various other positions at the John Deere Product Engineering Center for 25 years, retiring in 1984.
She loved exploring family history through genealogy, sewing, preparing delicious meals in the kitchen, and traveling to new and exciting places.
She is survived by two sons, Steven (Cheryl) Koob of Prospect Heights, IL, and Dennis (Kathy) Koob of Dysart; a grandson, Christopher (Keri) Taylor of Cedar Falls; a sister, Shirley Kueker of Waterloo; and a brother, Curtis Jacobsen of Janesville.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; a grandson, Curtis Foley; and a brother, Gary L. Jacobsen.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2025, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Waterloo, Iowa, 50701. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. A private Interment will be held in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
