Ricky Ray Bell, age 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the Hiawatha Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at   10:30 AM, Friday, December 5, 2025 at Blessed Hope Church in Vinton, with Rev. David Condry officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until service time Friday, also at the church, with a luncheon to follow.  A memorial fund has been established.

Ricky was born on September 25, 1956, in Vinton, IA, to Clarence and Lula (Conklin) Bell.  He graduated from Independence High School with the Class of 1976.   Ricky worked as a supervisor at a carnival company for 25 years.  Ricky loved the stock car races and demo derby’s in Vinton.  He often attended them with his sisters.  He was an avid football fan, supporting the K.C. Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes.  Ricky was a devout Christian and had many friends within the church.  Ricky collected many friends throughout his life, many of them through Alcoholics Anonymous.  He never met anyone that didn’t leave being his friend.

The family wishes to thank the Hiawatha Care Center and the Hospice Compassus team for the excellent care they provided Rick. 

He is survived by his children, Terral Bell, Amber Bell, Jessika (Justin) Heacock; 2 brothers, Larry “Douglas” (Mary) of Vinton, Steven (Molly) of Marion; 2 sisters, Wanda (Jim) Benson of Walker, MN, Irene Randall of Cedar Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children, Shawna, and Coya Bell; and sister Mary Evens
