Robert “Bob” Stewart Lechtenberg, 76, of Vinton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. 
Funeral services will be held at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Chaplain Brian Reeves officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   Burial will take place in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. 
Bob was born on August 14, 1949, in Manning, IA, the son of Alois “Al” and Elaine (Stewart) Lechtenberg. He grew up in Templeton, IA, graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, and then attended Dunwoody Institute of Technology in MN. 
On March 6, 1971, Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Rippel in Mt. Auburn. Together they shared over 54 years of marriage and built a loving family.  
Bob spent the majority of his working life as a lab technician at Square D, a manufacturing and production facility for electrical equipment. He retired in 2017 after many years of dedicated service. 
Bob had a passion for woodworking and could repair just about anything. He also enjoyed fishing and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. Bob was involved in Boy Scouts and Habitat for Humanity, generously giving his time and talents to help others.  
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bev Lechtenberg of Vinton; two sons: Mark (Catherine) Lechtenberg of Centerville and Wade (Melissa) Lechtenberg of LeClaire; seven grandchildren, Braden, Kianna, Cade, Annika, Euan, Clark, and Elise; his brother, Ron (Catherine) Lechtenberg of Denison; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold (Mary) Rippel of Mt. Auburn; and many other family members and friends.  
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Patty Lechtenberg. 
A memorial fund has been established.
